Dear Fear

You almost had me fooled…
I felt comfortable and safe living in the limits of my anxiety and fear, but no longer will I allow it to drive me. You have cost me relationships, jobs, love, opportunities, mental health, peace, joy, and so much more.
I didn’t even realize it was fear holding me back until I started to evaluate every area in my life I tend to shrink in as I pursued the desires of my heart. I was too scared to fail and afraid of success so before it could happen, I’ll run to protect myself. Little did I know, it was hurting me and how I showed up in the world.
Imagine being great at so many things, but you kept it to yourself to avoid getting hurt or being asked for more or to simply be stretched. That’s me! It’s not healthy at all. And this time, I look fear in the eye and say,
“Dear fear, I’m breaking up with you.”
Some of us committed to this toxic relationship with fear and it’s cost us big time. Please don’t be like I was… choose to push pass those fears to get to the other side of your breakthrough. You may not see what’s on the other side of the wall, but you can trust the God who does know and promises to provide for His children.
Let’s make a declaration to rebuke the fear that’s causing an uproar within us and preventing us to be all who God aspired us to be and more. No longer can fear drive you; it has to take a backseat while the Lord orders your steps. Remember, God has not given you a spirit of fear, but of love, power, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). Meditate on that scripture and choose to believe that truth to set you free.
Until next time,
