Hey sis! What does our boundaries look like during this quarantine? Have we folded?
It’s okay sis, God’s favor and grace hasn’t left the table, allowing us to make a full 360, repent, and get back on course! So don’t sit in shame and guilt. First, let’s examine why it is intended for us to have boundaries.
1 Corinthians 15:33 “Do not be misled: “Bad company corrupts good character.”
God had created each and every one of us in his image (Genesis 1:27). Therefore, we all hold God’s goodness inside of us. However, because of the sinful world we live in and the sin that resides inside of us, it has corrupted God’s people. God wants to protect us from those who could damage our character. God’s word isn’t here to control us and prevent us from having fun, but it’s simply for our own good. God LOVES us! Because God loves His children, when we step outside these boundaries, he rebukes, corrects, chastices, and disciplines us.
So how do I set boundaries? What do my boundaries look like?
Here are some questions to ponder when developing your boundaries:
1. Do my boundaries:
Exemplify who I am and who I’m not?
Exemplify the core of my identity?
Guide the decisions in my life?
Reflect my beliefs and values?
Guard my heart from danger?
Grant me peace?
To add, it’s crucial to set these boundaries prior to someone entering your life and keep yourself reminded of them. That way, it’s not as easy to compromise on something you’ve been reminding yourself over time. Your faithfulness to your boundaries grants you a fruitful harvest in the long run!
Your test wasn’t meant to be easy. Remember, your boundaries will be tested, nonetheless, you’re more than capable to PASS THE TEST WITH GOD’S STRENGTH!
I love you all! Stay faithful to the process!
